Happy Thanksgiving!

It is Thanksgiving in the USA and the Management and staff of the SS Galaxy wish everyone a Wonderful Holiday!  And even if you don't celebrate it, I am sure you can think of something to be thankful for on this day. :)

King Fisher Takes me Away

What does a Cruise Director do on her day off?  Why go fishing on my boat the King Fisher, of course.  I had alot of fun fishing and taking pics.  Especially, the pic of the King Fisher and the Galaxy gunning their engines.  Hehe.. 

Seriously the King Fisher is a great boat.  Seats 5, has a cabin with table and seats, galley  and a bed.  Some of the other features include working water lights, working spotlight, Navigational lights controlled by the 12 v DC Panel.  If you are looking for a boat you might want to take a look at this one.  I know it is one of my favorites.

Gem Hunt! (UPDATED)

It is GEMSTONE week on the Galaxy!  All of our events have a Gem theme and we have hidden a Gem on the Galaxy.  First person to find it gets a weeks stay!  Once one is found another one will be placed in another location the next day.  Good luck!

Above is a example Gem.  They will always be shown on the desk in reception.

UPDATE:
As people have not found the Diamond there are now TWO gems aboard to find.  And the first one I will leave you with a hint....it is somewhere in Forward on Deck 1.

The Sapphire has been found!  Congratulations to Blaze Lavender!

There Be Whales Here!

Yes the Galaxy has a new lady in our crew.  A Orca whale has joined us.  She is great fun to watch, listen to and ride.  She is located just off  the Fishing Gangway.  Stop by and say hello, I am sure she will enjoy your visit.  Hmmm now to find a xxxxxx uniform for her. ( Smiles)

In Forward just of the starboard bow (right side)  are three very frisky, fun loving dolphins.  They seem to be enjoying playing in our wake.  Take a few moments, sit in the Boiler Room, relax  and watch our threesome play.

LL Updates and we run for cover!

Linden Lab is doing a lot of updates this week.  And you may have noticed sim crossings are particularly bad as of late.  This is one reason for the lack of races on the Galaxy currently.  While LL is now working on the issue, however it will involve some large updates this week which means wide spread issues across the grid.


I know The Galaxy has experienced more general sim performance issues in the past few days.  And we will continue doing restarts as required to help mitigate this issue, however we may still have some performance issues that can't be helped.  We apologize for the inconvenience.


On a good note you might have noticed that LL has released a User Interface update to their latest viewer.  It removes the sidebar and gives a customizable list of buttons, which can be arranged to your liking on both sides of the screen and on the bottom.  The secret is to right click on a button and select edit toolbar then a window pops up.  While that is up you can drag and drop any button to the window to get rid of it or drag one out and add it to the tool bar of your choice.



You can also arrange the current ones to the configuration you like best.  And if you right click on the tool bar there is a option to show the labels or not.  It is a vast improvement in my opinion over the old sidebar interface as each button opens a window instead of the sidebar.

Formal Affair is Chic and stylish, perfect for the SL working lady.  The jacket could also be worn with a pair of jeans or black pants, with a turtleneck sweater...very versatile.

Winter Warmth is complete outfit with boots, jeans, coat, scarf and hat.  Face it the winter weather is closing in on us.  What fun to wear this and build a snowman with someone you care about.

Chic in Burberry is one of my favorite slack outfits.  With the jacket, pants and boots in the same package, you can't go wrong.   Very chic and very wow.

       

Dolly Red should be your next swimsuit.  It is fun, perky and sexy.

Daylight Savings Time Ends

Just a reminder that Daylight Savings Time starts tomorrow in the USA, meaning so will the SL clock.  You will find that events are a hour different (ahead) than previously.  Please keep this in mind as we would hate you to miss them due to this twice a year 'fun'.  ;)

New Port Of Call: New Babbage

We are pleased to announce we have sailed into our next port of call: New Babbage!

Do you like Steam Punk?  Then you are in luck as there is no better sim with the Steam Punk theme than New Babbage!  A wonderful place to explore (some of the best builds in SL), events, and friendly people.  You will find it all at New Babbage.

Just visit our gangway and click on the sign to disembark.  Just be sure to return before we sail on to our next port of call!

Two Balls one Hallowing good time!

We had two Halloween Balls last week and both were a spooktacular time!

 As you can see we had everything from Zombies, to Batgirl, to witches and everything in between!

 Even Tinys joined in on the fun!

And we always thought Benny was a clown...now we have the proof. :)

And on Sunday It was a real Howling time with the soulman! It was not only a Halloween Party but Bobby's Rezday and Polly just had her Birthday!  We had everything from Biker Babes, to Cousin IT, Grim Reaper, to Witches.  And as you can see some of the costumes were really "a-peel-ing"!

 Good thing we had a litter box handy tonight.

 And as you can see it was a greaty party but some had to get a cat nap after.

It was a fun time had by all and always stayed tuned to our calender there is always fun events going on at the Galaxy!
